Requisition No: 858511 Agency: Environmental Protection Working Title: OPS LABORATORY TECHNICIAN IV - 37990107 Pay Plan: Temp Position Number: 37990107 Salary: $19.71 - $24.74 hourly Posting Closing Date: 08/22/2025 Total Compensation Estimator Tool (https://compcalculator.myflorida.com/) OPS Laboratory Technician IV State of Florida Department of Environmental Protection This position is located in Tallahassee, FL Position Overview and Responsibilities: The OPS Laboratory Technician IV, 37990107, is in the Division of Environmental Assessment and Restoration’s Scientific Services Support Program, Receiving Group in Tallahassee and is responsible for performing technical and clerical work in the Scientific Support Services Program: + Logging samples into the DEP (LIMS) Laboratory Information Management System. + Packing sampling kits for customers to perform field sampling. + Assist the custodian with sample discard. + Performs other laboratory duties as required. Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: + Knowledge of the basic concepts and principles of the physical or natural sciences. + Knowledge of the procedures, equipment and material used in laboratory testing and analysis. + Ability to collect, record and analyze laboratory data. + Ability to understand and follow technical instructions relating to laboratory testing and analysis. + Ability to work independently. + Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing. + Ability to plan, organize and coordinate work assignments. + Ability to maintain a valid driver’s license and travel. + Ability to perform basic arithmetical calculations.
