As an Ophthalmic Photographer I, you will perform a range of basic to intermediate imaging procedures to support ophthalmic care, including OCT imaging, fundus photography, and angiography tests. Under the supervision of senior staff or management, you will follow physician protocols, assist in identifying ocular pathology, and ensure the accuracy and integrity of imaging data. This role also involves maintaining equipment, supporting patient safety, and contributing to a collaborative and responsive clinical environment.

A caregiver in this position works days, 9:00am—5:30pm or 7:30am—4:00pm. 

A caregiver who excels in this role will:   

Perform ophthalmic photography testing including anterior and posterior OCT imaging, standard fundus photography, ultra-wide field fundus imaging, FAF and red-free fundus photography, fluorescein angiography and ICG testing.Accurately differentiate basic to intermediate level ocular pathology and diseases.Evaluate physician orders and follow appropriate protocols for examinations.Maintain equipment and imaging database integrity and comply with all safety precautions.Demonstrate positive, concerned and sensitive responses in the work environment.

Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:   

Bachelors Degree in Ophthalmic Imaging or related field OR 4 years' experience as one of the following may substitute for the Bachelor's Degree: Full time Ophthalmic Photographer, Ophthalmic Echographer, Ophthalmic Imaging Specialist, Ophthalmic Assistant or Technician (certified), or RN (license not required)

Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:   

OCT-C (Optical Coherence Tomography-Certified) or eligible

Physical Requirements:

Manual dexterity and strength sufficient to operate medical equipment utilized to perform testing procedures, perform exams and hold equipment.Good eye-hand coordination. May require long periods of standing and walking.

Personal Protective Equipment:

Lab coat, gloves, and face mask when applicable.
