Press Operator-Jr Mechanic 2nd Shift Plant 1

AHF Products has a job opportunity for a Press Operator- JR Mechanic to be located in Crossville, TN. Reporting to the Press Department Supervisor.

JOB DUTIES:

Maintain fillers, presses, conveyers, and tables and dryers.    Perform all color and die changes based on production needs.    Maintain inventory of upper and lower punches, die frames and molds, and filler grids.    Rebuild molds as necessary.    Schedule Preventative Maintenance when due.    Lift and handle equipment up to 8,000 pounds with fork truck, and 120 lbs. of punches/dies.    Bleed and charge isostatic punches.    Adjust presses and fillers to facilitate an order after performing a die box change.    Operate a press if necessary.    Place sample tile in kiln to measure tile size after fired.    Complete 5S and TPMs and all other necessary paperwork.      Operate a forklift.    Use Gemba board to effectively communicate issues.    Communicate effectively with co-workers, Supervisors, and other Departments as needed.    Work on Kaizen for continuous improvement.    Follow safety guidelines and company standards, using Personal Protection Equipment.    Adhere to company policies and procedures.    Maintain housekeeping standards to ensure a clean and safe workplace.    Perform any other duties that may be required or assigned.   

 

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

Must be at least 18 years of age    Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail    Strong problem-solving skills    Positive attitude and strong work ethic    Good interpersonal skills in dealing with employees    Must be available to work overtime as necessary and other shifts as necessary    Must pass a mandatory pre-employment drug test, physical, and criminal background check

Frequent climbing, bending, standing, walking at a brisk pace 8+ hours a day, squatting, reaching, pushing and pulling Occasional lifting 80 pounds, either alone or with the assistance of another employee, in conformity with lifting techniques detailed in safety policies and training materials Frequent dexterity with hands for use of tools Frequent vision must be sufficient to see tools and equipment clearly Frequent hearing with the use of ear protection
