Location/Division Specific Information:The Asheville Manufacturing site is in the Laboratory Products Division within Thermo Fisher Scientific. Our laboratory equipment products are used primarily by pharmaceutical companies for drug discovery and development and by biotechnology companies and universities for life science research to advance the prevention and cure of diseases and enhance quality of life. Our offering consists of equipment, accessories, and services for sample preparation, storage and protection, and analysis.
How Will You Make an Impact?:You will support the manufacturing process by operating various machinery to provide high quality parts for work cells to meet scheduled demands.
A Day in the Life:Set up and operate machine on trial run to verify accuracy of machine settings or programmed control data; continue operation to accomplish production goals.
Calculate and set controls to regulate machine and enter commands to edit program in order to accomplish quality production goals.
Confirm accuracy of first set ups regarding size, shape, forming sequence, etc., using test pieces and again with first production piece and at subsequent intervals.
Education:High school diploma or equivalent required.
Experience:Required: Minimum of 1 year of work experience in a manufacturing, operations, production, lab setting or related fieldPreferred: Experience in a cGMP environmentKnowledge, Skills, Abilities:Proven track record in successfully working in a team of 8-10 colleagues.Ability to analyze and solve problems independently as well as collaboratively..Self-motivated, self-starter with strong interpersonal skillsAbility to read and differentiate part numbers, labels, and work instructions.Physical Requirements / Work EnvironmentStanding, bending, reaching and handling bulky parts is common to the job. Frequently lifts up to 50 pounds.Compensation
