Position Title: Operator II, Manufacturing

Group/Division: Microbiology Division (MBD)
Location: Thermo Fisher Scientific – Basingstoke (Wade Road Site)
At our Basingstoke site on Wade Road, we specialise in the manufacture of high-quality microbiology products, including Dehydrated Culture Media, serving laboratories and healthcare providers worldwide. This site is part of Thermo Fisher’s global manufacturing network, delivering products that support scientific research, diagnostics, and industrial applications.
Position Summary:
Join a dynamic team committed to making the world a healthier, cleaner, and safer place. As an Operator II, Manufacturing, you'll work a 40-hour week, Monday to Friday, on a rotating shift pattern alternating between 06:00-14:00 and 14:00-22:00. You will play a pivotal role in the manufacturing and packaging of Dehydrated Culture Media products.
Responsibilities:
Report unsafe or unethical practices immediately through the appropriate channels.
Actively participate in daily departmental meetings.
Monitor, track, and report daily goals to your supervisor/manager.
Engage in regular performance and development conversations and act on feedback.
Understand and adhere to performance metrics, safety metrics, and practices for your team/department.
Update stock management system (SAP) following task completion.
Maintain training records within the company quality management system (MasterControl).
Follow defined processes to build batch manufacturing records, print labels, and use accurate materials and equipment.
Experience, skills & abilities required:
We’re looking for someone who:
Demonstrates good literacy and numeracy skills, attention to detail, and the ability to follow written instructions.
Can meet the physical demands of the role, including manual lifting of multiple 25kg bags.
Ideally has manufacturing experience, although it is not essential.
