Air Products and Chemicals, Inc. (NYSE:APD), a Fortune 500 manufacturer of industrial gases, is seeking an experienced ­Operations Technician / Plant Operator for its Oak Creek, WI facility.

The Air Products facility in Oak Creek produces a variety of industrial gases which are supplied via tanker trucks to a wide variety of customers throughout the region. The facility is an Air Separation Plant that runs 365 days/year to support its large and diverse customer base.

Responsibilities:

You will be responsible for controlling and monitoring a number of processes in the production of liquid Nitrogen, Oxygen and Argon. ­Daily activities include, but not limited to the following:

Actively participate in the basic safety process, sharing responsibility for the site’s overall safety performanceProvide day-to-day operation of the plant to support production and reliability targetsInteract with staff personnel to maintain proper operation of all plants, providing hands-on assistance in mechanical, instrumentation, and electrical equipment troubleshooting efforts as neededMaintain error-free execution of operational processes and apply a continuous improvement philosophy to daily workParticipate in the planning and execution of minor and major shutdownsProvide technical and hands- on support as required during plant evolutionsFollow, update, and maintain operating procedures to ensure safe and efficient operationsSupervise trailer loading operations, and always promote safety rules and regulations

Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalency (required)Certificate in process technology or maintenance field, or two-year technical degree (preferred)Applicants should have a minimum of 2 years of experience in a technical/industrial environment (manufacturing, production, processing, chemical, or petrochemical) and/or have equivalent military experienceStrong mechanical, instrumentation, and electrical proficiencyProven commitment to safetyStrong written and verbal communications skillsMust be a teammate with a positive attitudeStrong computer skills

Shift and Physical Requirements:

Be able to meet call-in requirements as scheduled/neededMust be a self-starter and willing to work aloneMust be able to climb ladders and steps and lift a minimum of 50 lbs.Will be exposed to high noise levelsElevated work required
