Able to lift 40 lbs. without assistance, Adherence to all Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) Safety Standards, Cleanroom: no hair products, jewelry, makeup, nail polish, perfume, exposed piercings, facial hair etc... allowed, Cold Room/Freezers -22degreesF/-6degrees C, No contact lens allowed; prescriptive glasses will be provided, Office, Some degree of PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) required (safety glasses, gowning, gloves, lab coat, ear plugs etc.)

Job Description

The Microbiology Division provides solutions and workflows for food, clinical, and pharmaceutical environments. The markets we serve include food manufacturers and labs, clinical and healthcare, pharma, and biotech. We manufacture culture media and other microbiological diagnostic products serving customers in the pharmaceutical, food, and clinical laboratories.

How will you make an impact?

Lead a Lenexa team, supervise work centers, focus on safety, quality, compliance, and production.

What will you do?

Guarantee precise instruction on safety and ongoing enhancement for both new and current staff members.Manage employee time records, absences, overtime, and paid time off while ensuring accurate staffing levels.Build and maintain a safe work environment by engaging associates in reporting potential safety hazards, supporting EH&S guidelines, and continually emphasizing safe work habits and working conditions.Investigate safety problems, develop corrective actions with EH&S, and implement and communicate changes.Review and update Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Device History Records (DHRs) to ensure consistent and reliable processes that align with FDA regulations, ISO requirements, and cGMP.Manage daily operations, including incident reporting and immediate action steps.Ensure production schedules, quality initiatives, safety targets, efficiency metrics, and other operational measurements are met.Implement and maintain work areas within the spirit and guidelines of 5S according to Lean manufacturing principles.Use the PPI business system tools for continuous process improvement.

How will you get here?

Education

High school diploma or equivalent experience is necessary.Associate Degree or equivalent experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Leadership in core values of Integrity, Intensity, Innovation, and Involvement.Management, analytical, and conflict resolution skills.Verbal and written communication skills.Knowledge of SAP, Microsoft Office Suite, and related systems.Exposure to lean manufacturing and continuous improvement processes is advantageous.Strong process/systems competence and industry experience.Physical ability to tolerate loud noises and work on concrete for 10+ hours per day in temperature ranges between 40°F and 90°F.
