At HPE's Cyber Defense Center, we are committed to defending critical assets against ever-evolving cyber threats. As we enhance our capabilities, we're seeking a strategic leader who can harness their hands-on experience to help mature our First Response and Incident Command Team. This role calls for someone who can drive operational effectiveness under stress in a fast-paced and cyber environment.

Job Family Definition:

Provides Operational Support for all applications and infrastructure used within HPE Cyber Security teams.

Management Level Definition:

Contributions include applying developed subject matter expertise to solve common and sometimes complex technical problems and recommending alternatives where necessary. Will be required to act as a lead technician and provide assistance to lower level professionals. Exercises independent judgment and consults with others to determine best method for accomplishing work and achieving objectives.

What you’ll do:

Responsibilities:

 Support applications managed by Cyber Security.  This support includes end-user handling, problem/ticket resolution, escalations to engineering and IT, and performing application work on servers on behalf of engineering teams.Provide Change Management support to Cyber Security, including submission of Requests for Change (RFCs), and modification and approvals of RFCs.Represent Cyber Security on Major Incidents involving Cyber Security applications.  Achieve fast resolutions to MIs.Facilitate server access for Cyber Security employees, through various processes and tools.Procure cloud servers for Cyber Security teams and resolve any issues with access or availability.Deploy and maintain state-of-the-art security applications and appliances.Write and maintain support and process documents (e.g. playbooks, install docs, etc.)24 x 7 On-call support is required (on a rotation basis, approximately one week every eight weeks).Early shift work may be required, starting at 6 AM local time.
 

What you need to bring:

Education and Experience Required:

Bachelors degree required, preferably in computer science, engineering or related area of studyTypically 4+ years of relevant experienceMinimum of 2 year of experience in the support of at least two of the following areas: End-user SupportIncident ManagementApplication Software or Database SupportHP-UX, Linux, VMWare & Microsoft platforms (Server, client, applications)Deployment of Security Patches/Hotfixes for Enterprise ApplicationsTroubleshooting of operating system and networking issues.Experience supporting Windows or Linux server technology, complex enterprise systems that include geographically distributed users. Excellent troubleshooting techniques and analytical skills.Strong analytical skills.Strong verbal and written communication skills.Ability to operate within a team independently and understand when to escalate issues to management.Some knowledge of security tools, threats and vulnerabilities associated with large enterprise environments a plus.Experience with security systems or managing security infrastructure and/or applications a plus.The preferred candidate will have at least one or more IT professional certifications.
