Operations Supervisor
**Description** Leidos is seeking a hands-on Manufacturing Supervisor to lead day-to-day operations at a light manufacturing facility employing approximately 20 employees, in Egg Harbor, NJ supporting our Terminal Flight Data Manager (TFDM) contract. TFDM is a hardware and software development contract to provide our nation’s air traffic controllers with enhanced tools and capabilities across the national airspace system (NAS). This facility produces and tests IT racks built from commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) equipment. The Supervisor will oversee all production, testing, quality, and logistics functions, ensuring safe, efficient, and high-quality operations. While this position will be located in Egg Harbor, NJ, there is an extensive training period in Chesapeake, VA involved with this position. Please read below for more information. Training period: The TFDM program is opening a duplicate facility in the Egg Harbor, NJ area mimicking our current production and test facility located in Chesapeake, VA. For the first 60-90 days of employment, the selected candidate will be required to travel to and from the Chesapeake, VA area for on-the-job training (OJT). All travel expenses associated with the travel will be reimbursed. The trainee will be expected to stay in the Chesapeake area for 2-week periods with travel to/from home in between. This includes 1 weekend stay per 2-week event. **Key Responsibilities:** + Leadership & Supervision + Direct, coach, and develop a team of ~20 employees across assembly, testing, material handling, and shipping/receiving. + Schedule and assign work to meet production goals, customer deadlines, and quality standards. + Maintain a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement. + Operations Management + Oversee assembly of IT racks, integration of COTS components, and final testing. + Monitor daily production activities, resolve issues, and drive on-time delivery. + Ensure proper use and upkeep of tools, equipment, and facility infrastructure. + Coordinate with supply chain, engineering, and quality teams to resolve production challenges. + Quality & Compliance + Enforce adherence to quality standards, work instructions, and safety procedures. + Lead root cause analysis and corrective actions for production or test issues. + Ensure compliance with company policies and applicable industry regulations. + Workforce Development + Train employees on processes, equipment operation, safety, and quality procedures. + Conduct performance evaluations and recommend promotions, corrective actions, or disciplinary measures as needed. + Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) + Promote a strong safety culture and ensure compliance with OSHA and company safety programs. + Conduct safety inspections, maintain records, and implement corrective actions **Requirements:** + Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing, Engineering, Business, or related field. An Associates degree with additional years experience may be considered in lieu of a Bachelors degree + 5+ years of supervisory experience in manufacturing, assembly, or related production environment + Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills + Ability to read technical documents (schematics, work instructions, test procedures) + Ability to stand and walk for extended periods in a production environment + Ability to lift up to 40 lbs occasionally + Work in environments with moderate noise and temperature variation + Ability to obtain and maintain a public trust clearance in the future should business needs require + Ability to travel and work in Chesapeake, VA for the first 3 months **Preferred Qualifications:** + Proficient with MS Office; experience with ERP/MRP systems + Experience with electrical/mechanical assembly or IT hardware integration + Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles, 5S, or continuous improvement methodologies **What We Offer:** + Opportunity to lead a cross-functional production team in a growing facility. + Competitive compensation and benefits. + Career growth and development within a dynamic organization.
