Learn more at https://www.jnj.com/innovative-medicine We are searching for the best talent for **Operations Project Co-Op** to be in **Gurabo, PR.** + The typical Co-op term is from August, 2025 to August, 2026 + Full time requirement (40 hours per week) **Purpose:** Under close supervision, the incumbent is responsible for supporting and contributing to the smooth, continuous, cost effective and controlled manufacturing and packaging of products in support of business goals. This includes the evaluation of current manufacturing/packaging processes, development of improvement initiatives, and the execution and implementation of defined projects. Work in unison with Operations personnel at all levels and continuous improvement team in any initiative to improve the manufacturing/packaging process through kaizen teams, 6s, dashboards, standard works, checklists, time studies, etc. This person should be able to communicate effectively and have excellent presentation and writing skills. **You will be responsible for:** Project Planning and Tracking - Incorporates change management strategy as part of project plan, ensuring the J&J Change Management framework is used for implementation of all projects within Manufacturing//Packaging department. Analyze the need for improvements of the manufacturing/packaging existing processes (using the OEE/UDT source of data), control systems and equipment, and provide optimization ideas to increase efficiency and quality and reduce cost. Provide recommendations for operational improvements based on the outcome of the Base Business Results/Supply Chain Process Metrics. Support Lean Deployment initiatives and track the maintenance of Process Excellence projects and tools. Project Execution - Plan and lead the implementation of assigned projects. Applies Process Excellence methodologies and tools in determining lean and innovative alternatives during the execution of project plans. Support continuous improvement efforts. Applies statistical methods and performs capacity calculations to determine manufacturing/packaging processes constraints, staff, and production standards/requirements. Develops manufacturing/packaging labor standards by conducting time studies as needed. Team Dynamics & Internal/External Relationships - Exhibits proficiency in team discipline and leads projects under complex environment and across functions. Develops and maintains proactive and productive interaction with internal (across functions within JSC Gurabo) and external partners. Communicates effectively with Key customers/stakeholders to ensure clarity and customer alignment. Compliance-Quality & EHS - Ensures that Operations activities are performed under cGMPs and meet regulatory, quality, labor and EHS guidelines required by the various global agencies and authorities governing the JSC Gurabo Site. **Qualifications / Requirements:** + Completion of Undergraduate Freshman year at accredited University is required. + Minimum GPA of 2.8 is required. + This position requires an in-process bachelor’s degree in engineering, preferable in Industrial and Mechanical Engineering. + Must have excellent organizational skills and the ability to utilize systemic problem solving methodologies for first level support on the Manufacturing/Packaging shop floor. + Must use interpersonal and teamwork skills to build interdependent partnerships. + The candidate must show sense of urgency, initiative, team work, collaboration, integrity, and Credo-based actions. + The position requires employee to be fluent in Spanish and English and must have excellent ability to write in English and Spanish. + The position requires employee to be proficient in the use of MS Office applications: Word, Excel, Power Point, and Minitab. + Permanently authorized to work in the U.S., must not require sponsorship of an employment visa (e.g., H-1B or green card) at the time of application or in the future.
