What will I be doing?

Operations Manager serving Waldorf Astoria Maldives Ithaafushi oversees and directs all aspects of the Resort operational departments which include Front Office, Housekeeping, and Kids Club & Recreation.

Ensures these departments are well run by focusing on the following aspects: Maximization of revenues and profits, minimization of operating costs, implementation and follow up of service standards/staff training. Ensures highest levels of customer satisfaction. 

 Specifically, you will be responsible for performing the following tasks to the highest standards;

 

·         Support the overall strategic management of the resort by collaborating closely with senior leadership.

·         Contribute actively to the resort’s business strategy and operational planning.

·         Participate in key management matters such as capital projects, refurbishments, training, and service improvements.

·         Support the Commercial Team by ensuring Front Desk staff are trained in upselling techniques.

·         Collaborate with the Commercial Team to maximize revenue, yield, and profitability.

·         Conduct regular inspections across all resort areas to maintain operational standards.

·         Achieve targeted operational profit margins within the Rooms Division.

·         Monitor and control operational costs through detailed monthly analysis and action planning.

·         Manage labor costs effectively by aligning staffing levels with business demand and seasonal needs.

·         Maintain close coordination with the Commercial Director to align revenue performance with cost management.

·         Lead and motivate direct reports by setting clear objectives and regularly reviewing performance.

·         Provide coaching, guidance, and address performance issues when necessary.

·         Identify development opportunities and career paths for team members.

·         Conduct regular operations meetings with department heads and direct reports.

·         Recruit high-quality employees in collaboration with the HR department.

·         Ensure employees are well trained, assigned clear responsibilities, and deployed efficiently.

·         Maintain structured training programs, including departmental training plans and Hilton orientation for new staff.

·         Ensure strong internal communication, effective rostering, and compliance with labor laws.

·         Maintain high standards of quality, service, and brand compliance while responding to audit and guest feedback reports

Oversee Rooms Division and Kids Club operations to ensure service excellence, safety compliance, cleanliness, and guest satisfaction

What are we looking for?

Operations Manager serving Waldorf Astoria Maldives Ithaafushi is always working on behalf of our Guests and working with other Team Members. To successfully fill this role, you should maintain the attitude, behaviors, skills, and values that follow:

·         Graduate degree in Hotel Management or a related field.

·         Minimum 3 years of experience in an Operational Excellence or service industry management role.

·         Professional certifications such as ISO 9001 Lead Auditor, Six Sigma (Green/Black Belt), or Excellence Award Assessor are an advantage.

·         Strong leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills.

·         High level of accuracy with strong attention to detail.

·         Ability to work flexibly in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.

·         Exposure to multicultural work environments is an added advantage.

·         Strong organizational, planning, and analytical abilities.

·         Proficiency in computer applications such as Microsoft Word and PowerPoint.

Demonstrates reliability, resilience, professionalism, and a strong passion for delivering exceptional guest service while working under pressure
