Operations Manager
Eaton’s IS VEH VGNA division is currently seeking a Operations Manager. **What you’ll do:** **Basic function:** The operations manager is responsible to coordinate all manufacturing activities and be the linkage with the distinct functions to ensure production and absorption levels and plant goals to provide total customer satisfaction, including goals in quality, cost, delivery performance and safety, being conducted at any time according to Eaton’s Ethics and Values. **Main responsibilities and authority:** • Coordinates, develops, and implements plant policies related to production, inventory, quality levels, and customer needs. Review, prioritize and classify scheduling workload in support of plant and division business objectives. • Directs the Manufacturing area to meet plant objectives. Provide input to support functions, as they relate to process improvement and program implementation. • Communicates and provides leadership to ensure achievement of plant objectives: 1. Tactical operational plans, e.g., Profit Plan Goals, 2. Strategic Plans align with divisional and group operational strategies to all organization members as applicable. • Maintains and improves employee relationships with all personnel to ensure a progressive workforce, striving for continuous improvement. Responsible for monitoring and measuring programs for Safety, Environment and Health according to his area of management such as Machine guarding, Energy control (Lock out - Tag out), Electrical safety, etc. • Must work consistently to maintain safe and healthy working conditions, to adhere to proper operating practices and procedures designed to prevent injury and illness and to observe Federal, State, local, overall regional and company safety and health regulations. Must reflect an interest in company safety and health objectives and be required to set a good example by always observing the rules as a part of the normal work routine. Expected to follow safe working practices, obey rules and regulations, and work in a way that maintains the high safety and health standards developed and sanctioned by the company. • Relentlessly Build Organizational Capability, while providing overall direction and accountability in accordance with Eaton Values and Philosophies. Provide leadership in supporting the plant’s policies, objectives, and goals. • Relates to all departments to ensure the Eaton’s quality products. Provides direction and overall leadership and support for cost-out initiatives at the plant and divisional levels. Direct the development of accurate work standards to correctly cost the product lines. • Attending training courses assigned by the Human Resources Department. • Performs activities according to the Quality and Environmental policies established by the business. • Applies the Safety and Environment principles and methodology to prevent accidents. • Promotes and applies continual improvement. • Leader of the category 5: Chemical Administration of MESH **Competencies:** **Education level required:** Engineering degree or similar **Years and area of experience required:** + 5 experience years on manufacturing operations activities **Technical competencies:** Requires knowledge in Manufacturing Engineering, Tooling Engineering, Plant and Facility Engineering, production planning and inventory control, employee relations, manufacturing processes and quality methods. It also requires technical knowledge of the product and its applications. Demonstrates the ability to apply the hierarchies of EHS risk controls in cooperation with internal stakeholders within the site. Bilingual **Soft skills:** Excellent communication and human relations skills and the ability to lead and motivate subordinates. Administrative skills to include planning, coordinating, team building, communication, organization, and time management One must also be a good communicator and motivator. Must set a good, positive example **Additional Information:** **ENVIRONMENTAL SYSTEM RESPONSABILITY** • Separate dangerous residues from the normal trash • Place the dangerous residues (gloves, cloths, etc.) in the assigned containers. • Maintain area clean and free of contaminants. • Not a waste of water or electricity. • Report any activity that can put in risk my safety and environment. • Identify and give adequate disposition to all chemical products which can contaminate the environment. • Acting immediately in chemists’ discharge case. • Ensure the rights containers for disposition of dangerous residues (identifying containers and containers to prevent discharge) **ENSURING THE QUALITY MANAGEMENT SYSTEM RESPONSIBILITY** • Ensuring the integration of the quality management system requirements into the organization's business processes. • Ensuring that the quality management system achieves its intended results. • Promoting the use of the process approach and risk-based thinking. • Ensuring that the resources needed for the quality management system are available. • Communicating the importance or effective quality management and of conforming to the quality management system requirements • Engaging, directing, and supporting people to contribute to the effectiveness of the quality management system. • Promoting improvement. • Supporting other relevant management roles to demonstrate their leadership as it applies to their areas of responsibility. • Support and participate in the Fresh Eyes Audit, ISO IATF/ EQMS Policies/ Group Procedures/ Local Procedures, etc We are committed to ensuring equal employment opportunities for job applicants and employees.
