Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in business, logistics or a closely-related discipline 5+ years of related experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.    Ability to apply concepts related to business-related financial data to the work performed.      Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.  Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in written, financial, mathematical and diagram formats and to deal with several abstract and concrete variables. Must be proficient in the use of various computer programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint,  Access, Explorer); project management and enterprise requirements planning systems (Oracle, SAP, BaaN).  Analytical: Synthesizes complex or diverse information; Collects and researches data; Uses intuition and experience to complement data. Interpersonal: Establishes positive and effective relationships with individuals at all levels, both internal and external to the organization.  Communication: Demonstrates both written and verbal communication skills, including presentation skills at the individual and small group levels. Job Summary

Manage all operational activities associated with assigned product lines by effectively leading distribution operations, including warehousing, packaging, quality, tool repair, credits/payables and other, related functions.  Oversee and guide assigned staff in the performance of their assigned job duties, including but not limited to those listed below, in accordance with Company guidelines, policies and procedures.  Acts as single point of accountability for Import/Export compliance, including ITAR compliance.

Responsibilities 

Provide operational support necessary to meet or exceed annual profit and loss objectives, as well as all financial and non-financial objectives such as cash flow, profitability, safety, on-time delivery, quality, and business productivity.   Manage inventory, including maintenance of location control systems, warehousing systems, and picking/packing devices necessary to effectively ship stock orders in a timely manner while seeking to continually improve inventory turns and minimize inventory investment.  Oversee a team of individuals performing duties in a range of disciplines such as logistics, warehousing, credit and collections administration, and customer service. Interface with internal and external suppliers of product to develop, review and adjust delivery schedules and to resolve issues that might prevent timely delivery of quality product to customers.    Staff and train an efficient and effective distribution center warehouse, packaging, quality, tool repair, and credits/payables staff to meet customer expectations.  Provide positive leadership to team members through timely coaching, counseling, corrective actions and performance appraisal.  Interface with departments and organizations both internal and external to the Industrial Americas Sales & Marketing group to ensure customer needs are being communicated and met on a consistent and timely basis.  Visit customers and vendor visitations in coordination with other company representatives to maintain and improve working relationships and to resolve issues that may impede effective inter-organizational functioning.   Demonstrate a thorough knowledge of products and applications, distribution channels, competitor offerings, economic environments and other relevant factors.  Serve as single point of accountability for the facility in the areas of International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR), Technical Focal Point and Import-Export (IMEX) to ensure that all applicable laws, regulations and rules are adhered to through development and implementation of sustainable internal policies, procedures and processes.   Develop, implement and maintain robust environmental health and safety, inventory control, quality and other business systems to support consistently favorable business outcomes.    Utilize the Company ASAT system to conduct periodic audits of key aspects of the business to identify and close identified gaps in the location’s policies, procedures and processes.  Apply ABS lean manufacturing methodologies to continually review and improve existing business processes, fostering enhanced organizational performance in all assigned areas.  Maintain full compliance with Company policies and procedures and conducts all activities in accordance with the Howmet Code of Conduct to include ASATS and Sarbanes-Oxley compliance.  As needed, maintain oversight for satellite warehouses in regard to fulfillment and inventory  Ensure Credit department is keeping up with daily tasks, including invoice processing, researching and administering customer credits, daily sales report, returned product credit processing, researching and resolving trade management claims, processing credit card payments and order releases – all in conformance with established weekly and monthly deadlines.   Oversee month-end, quarterly, and annual financial reporting required by Corporate Accounting and Controller(s), including but not limited to balance scorecards, resource unit charges, sales tax report, select financial data report, and workers’ compensation/healthcare report.
