Job Description
This role encompasses regional responsibilities, including leadership and management of daily department operations. You will oversee Field personnel, Technical Service Managers, Project Engineers, Design Engineers, and System Software Engineers. The Operations Manager role includes both Construction and Service Operations, supporting strategic planning and development of operations and technical services in alignment with the business's strategic direction.
ResponsibilitiesManage and oversee company standards, process execution, and quality assurance for the local operations team.Lead the local team through change management techniques to effectively deploy new company strategies, standards, and processes.Plan and allocate team resources for contracting and service operations based on local business needs.Facilitate the local contracting & service business turnover process, ensuring meetings with Project Managers & Project Engineers to gather necessary information for engineering, software development, and field service execution.Manage and maintain local and regional use of Sunbelt engineering, software, and graphics solutions standards documentation and libraries.Administer individual skills assessments and plan annual personal and professional development for operations personnel.Support development of methods and processes to enhance personnel efficiency and effectiveness while reducing costs for project and service operations.Network locally and develop third-party recruiting relations to support recruitment and hiring of operational staff.Develop annual staffing and recruiting strategy for local operations business growth.Provide weekly/monthly resource capacity management for scheduling and resource loading to the management team as needed.Participate in monthly backlog review with Sales and Service managers.Proactively evaluate potential issues on projects and initiate action plans with the Project Manager to mitigate negative outcomes.Develop and maintain productive relationships with local customers, project managers, office staff, and field personnel.Essential SkillsStrong understanding of mechanical systems and HVAC building automation controls.Familiarity with system sequences and platforms such as Johnson Controls, Honeywell, and Delta.Associates Degree in a technical field or 2-5 years of related work experience in building automation systems.Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, computer science, or related field preferred.Relevant certifications in HVAC Controls Programming or Building Automation Systems.Proficiency with industry-standard programming languages, protocols, and software tools (BACnet, Modbus, Niagara Framework, etc.).Working knowledge of MS Office, Windows, File Structure, Basic TCP/IP network structure, and web navigation.Highly organized with the ability to prioritize tasks in a high-paced environment.Ability to operate independently and take ownership of assigned tasks.Excellent critical thinking skills and attention to detail.Valid driver’s license.Strong oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills.Additional Skills & QualificationsMechanical, Production, Service, Engineering, and Management skills.Experience with change management and leadership techniques.Work Environment
This position is based onsite in the Pleasanton office.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $145000.00 - $187000.00/yr.
