SUMMARY

ASM Global has an immediate opening for an Operations Manager at Boeing Center at Tech Port, located in San Antonio, Texas. Under general supervision of the Director of Operations, the Operations Manager provides supervision and guidance of house crews during set-up, breakdown, change overs, and upkeep for all events. Additionally, the Operations Manager will direct, and coordinate personnel, subcontractors and daily activities involved in the successful execution of events and maintenance of the facility.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Assists the Director of Operations in directing, supervising, and scheduling all aspects of operations, including execution of work orders and staff management.Oversee the scheduling of the department and make sure it is integrated to meet the deadlines and demands for the facility's operations.Develop and implement preventative maintenance schedules, emergency procedures and safety policies, and track them in ALTUM, ASM's proprietary maintenance program.Responsible for completion of assigned work orders through management of BCTP staff and ASM Operations staff.Manage subordinate supervisors and PT Operations Staff. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.Ability to operate a forklift and other industrial equipment related to building management.Ability to manage and execute Preventative Maintenance Policy and Procedures surrounding machinery and equipment (forklift, scissorlifts, etc…)Assist with management of service contracts to include Pest Control, Vertical Transportation, IT, A/V, and Fire Systems.Anticipates problems and presents appropriate solutions. Investigates, analyzes and resolves operational problems and complaints.Maintains cleanliness and organization of all equipment and supplies in all storage areas and oversees all venue cleanliness and organization.Assures facility readiness and efficient operation of events.Assist in the preparation of the annual operating budget and recommend an annual capital budget for long-range repairs and improvements to the facility. Authorize the requisition of equipment and supplies within budget.Maintains compliance with OSHA standards, documentation and trainings.Works flexible and extended hours, including nights, weekends, holidays, in addition to normal business hours.Support Venue Management in executing all types of events. Expected to be on site for events to oversee execution and staff response to issues that arise during load in, event timeline and load out.Additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

4 years of hands-on experience in facility maintenance; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience in an arena or stadium operations/maintenance environment preferred.High school diploma or GED required.OSHA 10 -OSHA 30 Certification Preferred

SKILLS AND ABILITIES 

Familiar with operational procedures, facility capabilities, industry terminology, event-related services, and technical requirements for the types of events anticipated at the facility.Basic understanding of plumbing, electrical systems, door hardware, locks, door closers, etc.Understand and be capable of insuring that all laws, building codes, ordinances, policies, procedures, risk management and emergency procedures are followed.Work effectively under pressure and/or stringent schedule and produce accurate results in a fast-paced environment.Read and comprehend blueprints, drawings and other related materials preferred.Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal skills required.Ability to prioritize work to meet deadlines. Work effectively under pressure and/or stringent schedules.Work independently with limited supervision, exercising judgment and initiative.Maintain effective working relationships with clients, employees, exhibitors, patrons, and others encountered in the course of employment.Ability to assess problems, formulate solutions and resolve with limited time and resources.Seeking Proactivity in this role.Ability to create and read CAD Drawings preferred.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

While performing the duty of this job, the employee is required to walk/stand extensively, kneel, climb to high walkways, balance, and maneuver to all areas of the facility.The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds.Work inside and outside the building is required, may have some exposure to adverse conditions.Must be able to hear and speak to use a two-way radio.
