Title of Position:

Operations Manager, Data Centre

Reporting to:

Service Delivery Manager, Data Centre

Job Purpose

Ability to lead a diverse team of multiskilled engineers to ensure high preformance and delivery.

To undertake aspects of Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM), Reactive Maintenance, Small Projects and Helpdesk Calls in accordance with both client and JLL requirements

To manage and monitor the buildings operational functions

To be responsible for the buildings operational assets and systems whilst on shift

To issue permit to work for all specilaist vendors and carryout appropriate isolations via LOTO

To ensure EHS, statutory and contractual compliance is delivered and maintained

To ensure building operating conditions are maintained in line with design specifications together with confirmation of in country regulations, and contractual requirements

To ensure all site documentation is collected, analysed and recorded

To produce monthly operational reports, and additional reporting when required

To complete HV training ( tbc ) and switch HV and LV supplies as required

Aims and Objectives

To act as a single point of contact for All Engineering matters across the location

Assist ESM in the safe and delivery ofall JLL services and projects

Staff supervision including sub-contractors and specialist providers

Be proactive with regard to preventative maintenance and extra works

Maintain clear and legible records as required

Provide written incident reports as required

Interaction with JLL support staff, providing information as required

Switching of HV and LV supplies as required

Person Specification

Qualifications, Experience, Knowledge, Skills and Competencies

The knowledge, skills, qualifications, competencies and experience relevant to the position are:

Essential

Indentured Apprenticeship

City & Guilds Parts 1 and 2 (Electrical Installation 2360) or recognised equivalent; or

17th Edition Institute of Electrical Engineers (I.E.E) Registration or recognised equivalent

Experience gained within a critical maintenance environment

A good working knowledge of BMS, and critical assets and systems i.e. UPS, Emergency Generation-Electrical and Mechanical distribution, Air conditioning

Ability to interpret technical information and work with the team to provide solutions to technical / complex issues

Good leadership qualities, with a desire to progress within the business

Ability to adapt to differing in country regulation and compliance

PC literate

Exceptional communication skills

Sound leadership qualities

Self supervision

Proactive, positive approach and attitude

Proven problem-solving abilities

Knowledge

10 years Building Service experience within a large demanding financial institution, with direct experience of operating and maintaining business critical assets and systems. This will include, but not limited to; - Static UPS, Emergency Generation, Packaged Chillers, A/C, BMS, Distribution systems and associated auxiliaries. A sound working knowledge of emergency and standard operating procedures is also required
