We are currently seeking a high calibre professional to join our team as an Operations Manager, Cheque Processing, Supplied Services.
Principal Responsibilities
In this role you will
Supervise and support Domestic Cheque and International Cheque processing to ensure service quality and smooth operation
Manage Hong Kong Cheque team and monitor the performance of offshore Cheque team
Investigate, escalate to management and apply remedies for operation issues and incidents in a timely manner. Provides accurate monthly reports and management reporting in a timely manner and analyses the reports to spot out underperforming areas
Supports the management and mitigation of operational risk by identification, assessment, mitigation and control of operational risk of cheque processes. Raises the awareness and alertness of financial crime activities relating to cheques and reduces the potential fraud loss
Supports the planning and execution of business continuity and contingency plans and performs regular contingency drill exercises in accordance with HSBC and regulatory requirements
Ensures the operation is compliant to HSBC risk policies and procedure, regulatory standard and audit requirement and fulfils all control requirement via continuous review of working procedures
Identify and drive streamlining initiatives / projects from planning to implementation for Cheque Operations
Contributes to operational efficiency, productivity improvement and customer experience and manages the ad-hoc process changes as required. Communicate and perform governance with various service providers

To be successful you will need
Experience in banking or financial institutions
Experience in Domestic Cheque or International Cheque or other banking operations
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Knowledge of data and system analysis
Experience in managing projects and change management skills
Ability to manage timelines and individuals with pressures and make time critical decisions
Excellent communicator, resourceful, able to work independently and in a team
Experience in vendor management is preferred. Proficient in both spoken and written English and Chinese
Shift duty is required with shift allowance
