Role Overview:
We are seeking a driven and detail-oriented Ecommerce Operations Intern to join our Ecommerce team at Vision Direct, part of the EssilorLuxottica eCommerce UK division. This is a 6-month full-time internship, ideal for a graduate or early-career professional with a passion for Ecommerce, data analysis, and operational excellence.
This is more than a support role – you’ll be embedded in the day-to-day and strategic operations that underpin our high-performance online business. Expect hands-on experience, international exposure, and cross-functional collaboration with colleagues across Logistics, Aftersales,Customer Service, IT, and Corporate.
Key Responsibilities
Order & Fulfilment Operations
Oversee the order lifecycle from processing to fulfilment, ensuring a seamless customer experience. Coordinate with local teams in the UK, Benelux, Spain, and Italy to monitor and manage orders efficiently. Liaise with Logistics, Supply Chain, Planning, Digital IT, and Customer Service to align availability and delivery timelines.Performance Monitoring & Data Analysis
Analyse daily order flow and monitor KPIs such as on-time delivery rate, cancellation trends, return rates, and Gross-to-Net performance. Generate weekly reports and dashboards, identifying gaps and opportunities for operational improvements.Project & Process Improvement
Contribute to the Ecommerce Operations project roadmap by identifying and proposing initiatives. Draft business requirements and build supporting cases for project proposals. Collaborate with corporate teams to evaluate priorities and define deliverables.Key Stakeholders
You will interact with Ecommerce Managers, Program Management, IT Engagement & Service teams, Logistics, Transportation, and After Sales functions across the EssilorLuxottica network.
Candidate Profile
Master’s degree in Management, Engineering, Supply Chain, or a related field.
Core Competencies
Strong analytical mindset and proficiency in Excel; knowledge of Power BI and Adobe Analytics is advantageous. Solid understanding of Ecommerce and/or Logistics processes and associated KPIs. Excellent verbal and written communication skills – clear, concise, and tailored to both technical and non-technical audiences. Structured time management with the ability to prioritise and execute under pressure. Technical Skills Familiarity with SAP or similar ERP systems. Experience working with dashboards, KPIs, and performance metrics. Personal Attributes Proactive, pragmatic, and solution-oriented. Strong interpersonal skills with a collaborative mindset. A natural problem-solver with critical thinking ability and attention to detail.Languages
English: Full professional proficiency required.
Italian: Professional proficiency is a plus.
