Job Description SummaryGE Healthcare currently has an opportunity available for an Operations Engineer at our location in State College, PA. We are seeking a hands-on and analytical Operations Engineer to support and optimize our digital manufacturing systems in the production of ultrasound probes. This role bridges the gap between operations, IT, and Engineering by ensuring the effective use of our eDHR (electronic Device History Record) / MES (Manufacturing Execution System) and ERP systems. The ideal candidate will be responsible for system configuration, data integrity, machine connectivity, and reporting - while also supporting manufacturing teams with real-time troubleshooting and process improvements. Roles and Responsibilities
Configure, maintain, and optimize MES and eDHR systems to align with production workflows.Ensure compliance with regulatory standards (e.g., FDA, ISO) in system usage and documentation.Support projects involving system upgrades, process changes, or new equipment integration.Document system configurations, workflows, and user procedures.Coordinate with cross-functional teams including Quality, Engineering, IT, and Manufacturing.Analyze production processes and identify opportunities for efficiency improvements.Develop and maintain SQL-based reports and dashboards to monitor production, quality, and system performance.Automate reporting and data processing tasks.Collaborate with stakeholders to define KPIs and deliver actionable insights.Interface with ERP systems to ensure accurate and timely reports.Assist in setting up and maintaining machine connectivity for automated data capture.Work with IT/OT teams to integrate new equipment and technologies into the digital ecosystem.Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.3+ years of experience in a Manufacturing or Operations Engineering role.Proficiency with MES/eDHR systems (e.g., Oracle ERP, Rockwell FactoryTalk).Familiarity with SQL and ERP systems (e.g., Oracle ERP, SAP).Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work in a fast-paced, regulated environment (preferably in the medical device industry).Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Good organizational skills (task tracking and reporting).Desired Characteristics
Knowledge of industrial communication protocols.Familiarity with data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau).Programming or scripting experience (e.g., PowerShell, PHP, JavaScript, CSS, HTML) is a plus.Physical Requirements:
