Description

Our client, a large oil & gas producer is seeking an intermediate Operations Engineer to support facility operations in the Waterton area. The ideal candidate will be a licensed Professional Engineer (P.Eng) with a strong background in sour gas processing and pressure equipment design. This role requires a proactive individual with excellent technical and analytical skills to support ongoing and future projects.

Key Responsibilities

Provide engineering support for sour gas processing facilities, including gas treating and sulfur plant operations.

Lead and support Management of Change (MOC) processes.

Conduct and participate in process safeguarding and hazard analysis (HAZOP).

Optimize energy usage, including steam generation and electrical demand balancing.

Design and evaluate piping and pressure equipment.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure project success and operational efficiency.

Support facility energy efficiency and optimization initiatives.

Interface with internal and external stakeholders, including regulatory bodies.

Top Skills & Qualifications

Licensed Professional Engineer (P.Eng) in Alberta.

5–10 years of relevant engineering experience.

Strong experience in sour gas processing and plant operations.

Proficiency in piping and pressure equipment design.

Extensive experience with MOC processes.

Experience with process safeguarding, hazard analysis, and HAZOP.

Knowledge of energy efficiency and optimization in industrial facilities.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

Experience with gas treating and sulfur plant operations.

Background in mechanical, process, or chemical engineering.

Familiarity with steam header balancing and electric driver optimization.

HAZOP experience

Location: Waterton Area, Alberta (Pincher Creek, Crowsnest Pass, Cardston, or Lethbridge preferred)

Job Type: Full-Time, Hybrid (4–5 days onsite preferred)

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $60.00 - $72.00/hr.
