Job Description
As the Collegeboxes Operations Coordinator, you will facilitate and assist in all aspects of coordinating and executing small and large-scale college moves throughout the U.S and Canada, with a focus on the West and Northwest regions. Primary responsibilities will be to coordinate operations through effective communication with our service providers and field support staff with minimal supervision. Operations Coordinator will help recruit, train and direct moving crews by securing moving equipment and storage space. Additional responsibilities include assisting customers on text, email and chat with questions about products and services.
Shift Schedule
Day: Monday through Friday
Hours: 9am-6pm (In-Person)
Key Responsibilities
Operations
Schedule pickup and deliveries at college campuses across the U.S. and Canada
Prepare and distribute reports with customer and housing information to support logistical planning
Create efficient routes to optimize campus operations and reduce pickup and delivery times
Book and manage U-Haul moving equipment and supplies
Recruit, onboard, and schedule third-party service providers
Oversee local storage operations and manage space utilizations
Receive and track incoming shipments, self-drop-offs and pickups
Collaborate with field support teams including GMs, CSRs, and U-Box
Customer Service
Respond to customer inquiries via phone, email, text, and chat
Provide product, pricing, and order information
Troubleshoot issues and identify root causes
Offer clear solutions and escalate when needed
Process payments, returns and update customer accounts
Ensure a professional, empathetic, and customer-first approach in every interaction
Peak Season (May, June, August, September)
Drive U-Haul trucks and lift up to 50lbs as needed
Work occasional half days on weekends or alternate Saturday/Sundays
Be on-call 1-2 weekend days during December and January
Travel 10-20 days per year to assist with move-in/move-out, housing fairs or tradeshows
Requirements
Proficient with computers and the use of email
Intermediate to advance knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word
Organized with strong time management
Ability to multitask and remain effective during high-volume periods
High-level customer service and problem-solving abilities
Self-motivated with a proactive approach to tasks
Comfortable making independent decisions when needed
Willingness to take on off-season projects to improve operations and customer experience
