Operational Excellence & HSE Manager

Airswift is looking for an Operational Excellence & HSE Manager to work on a permanent contract in Ciudad del Carmen, Campeche, Mexico, with a leading company in the drilling and production services sector.

This professional will lead the implementation of operational excellence and HSE strategies across integrated well services (infrastructure, production, drilling, completion, and workover), ensuring standardization, risk mitigation, regulatory compliance, and sustainable performance in offshore environments.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Design and implement policies, standards, and continuous improvement initiatives for operational efficiency and HSE.

Develop and monitor performance indicators (KPIs) for production, drilling, and well interventions.

Lead and oversee risk management tools and processes, including HARC and MoC implementation.

Standardize procedures and ensure adherence to best practices across project phases.

Supervise non-productive time tracking (NPT/NPTI) and lead incident investigations (ICR) with root cause analysis and corrective actions.

Coordinate and lead internal and supplier audits; oversee supplier qualification processes.

Drive quality assurance and personnel competency strategies for offshore activities.

Promote a strong culture of safety and operational discipline across all organizational levels.

Oversee the development of emergency response plans and coordinate monthly/annual HSE drills.

Ensure regulatory compliance with national and international safety and environmental standards.

Implement methodologies such as Lean, Kaizen, Six Sigma, and 5S to optimize operational workflows.

Support implementation of management systems aligned with ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001, and ISO 16530 (Well Integrity).

Provide technical field support and regular offshore presence to monitor compliance with operational excellence and HSE procedures.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams including HR, Supply Chain, Logistics, Engineering, and Finance to ensure aligned execution of initiatives.

Manage dashboards and automation systems for real-time analysis and decision-making.

Lead best practices and lessons learned workshops with internal teams and contractors.

Ensure staff training programs are aligned with operational excellence and HSE goals.

Prepare and present performance reports to senior leadership.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

Education: Bachelor's degree in Petroleum Engineering, Mechanical, Industrial, Chemical, or a related field.

Experience:

Minimum 20 years in the oil & gas industry.

At least 10 years in leadership roles focused on Operational Excellence and HSE.

Proven offshore field experience and ability to manage both technical and administrative aspects of OE & HSE.

Technical Knowledge:

Strong understanding of well production, artificial lift systems, nodal analysis, and offshore drilling operations.

Familiarity with predictive/preventive maintenance, performance KPIs, and PEMEX regulatory standards.

Software:

Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

Familiarity with HSE and operational dashboards or automated systems.

Language:

Basic English and Fluent Spanish required

Other Requirements:

Good physical health and fit for offshore duties.

Strong communication, leadership, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.

Availability for frequent offshore travel.
