Business Need/Purpose of Role:

Pouring and Shakeout is an area with a set of four interchangeable jobs. A person in this area must be team oriented, self-directed, and able to perform all the functions required as follows:

Objectives & Measurement – Key Responsibilities:

LADLEMAN

Responsible for operating the large ladle of molten metal, transporting it to the pouring line via overhead crane, and manually tipping it using a large wheel to fill smaller pouring ladles.Also adds hot top after metal is poured.


POURER

Responsible for pouring molten metal into sand molds using a fixed manipulator arm and bar handle.Also handles disposal of used ladle shells and preparation of new ones.

SET UP

Physically demanding role involving rapid, repetitive lifting, pushing/pulling mold carts, scanning mold tags, and supporting crew as needed.


HOT METAL CRANE OPERATOR

Must be able to pass certification as a hot metal crane operator, and takeout heats as necessary.

Job Knowledge/Education and Qualifications:

Good communication skillsAble to learn about alloys and metal specificationsAble to work with exposure to extreme heat from hot molten metalGood physical agility and coordinationExtensive walking, upper body strength and good lifting technique is required

We offer $24.65 per hour to start and $28.35 per hour rate of pay when you’re fully trained.
