procedure Works collaboratively with the interdisciplinary team Assists in maintaining a safe and clean environment Reports to the Clinical Nurse ManagerEDUCATIONCERTIFICATIONMust have successfully completed a nationally accredited Surgical Technology program and hold a Surgical Technologist Certification from a national certifying body recognized by the Department of Public Health The National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting CST or the National Center for Competency Testing TS CCandidates without current certification who have successfully completed an accredited Surgical Technologist program but has not as of the date of hire obtained a Surgical Technologist Certification must obtain such certification within days of hire from a national certifying body recognized by the Department of Public Health The National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting CST or the National Center for Competency Testing TS CSurgical Technicians who acted within the role of a Surgical Technician Operating Room Technician on or before October may be grandfathered in per CT Public Act Must maintain Certification while employed in this roleMust have certification in Basic Cardiac Life Support upon hire or receive certification within the new employee introductory orientation period and maintain clinical competency during employment within this scrub role for surgical and invasive procedures under the direction of an RNIn collaboration with surgical team participates in activities to accomplish efficient room turnover including cleaning of floor and furniture removal of used equipment supplies instrumentation providing appropriate equipment for next procedureIn collaboration with RN demonstrates appropriate identification handling and processing of specimensDemonstrates knowledge of and assures maintenance of aseptic technique throughout the surgical procedure identifies and communicates to surgical team any breaks in technique and
