**Position Summary:** Supports the Mission, Vision and Values of the Hospital. Assists licensed nursing staff in providing indirect and direct patient care under the direction of the Registered Nurse and within the scope of defined practice. **Essential Functionsand Responsibilities:** 1. Supports the mission and vision of McLarenPort Huron through behaviors that reflect and integrate our values, asevidenced by observation, peer and customer feedback. 2. Provides for personal care of patients under thesupervision of licensed nursing staff. 3. Maintains safe unit environment, supplies and equipmentfor patients and staff to facilitate patient care. 4. Performs specific procedure and patient testingaccording to patient plan of care under the supervision of licensed nursingstaff. 5. Facilitates admission, discharge and transferprocedures for patients on and off unit. 6. Provides for transportation of patients as requested bylicensed nursing staff. 7. Contributes to the effective communication and efficientoperation needs of unit. 8. Participates in a minimum of fifty (50%25) of monthlydepartmental meetings. 9. Demonstrates commitment to personal career growth andcompetency. 10. Performsother related job duties as requested. **Qualifications:** _Required:_ * High school graduate or GED * Satisfactory work record as delineated by previous work record _Preferred:_ * Previous hospital experience
