Operating Engineer JLL
What this job involves:
The Operating Engineer plays a critical role in ensuring the seamless operation and reliability of facility systems across our commercial properties. This position requires a technically skilled professional who will operate, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair complex building equipment including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical systems. You will demonstrate mastery in at least one craft area while applying multi-skilled capabilities across various building systems to maintain optimal facility performance. This role is essential to JLL's commitment to delivering exceptional facility management services and ensuring our clients' properties operate at peak efficiency and safety standards.
What your day to day will look like:
Operate, maintain, and repair mechanical, HVAC, plumbing, electrical, structural, fire, and life safety systems to ensure compliance with applicable standards and optimal facility performanceConduct preventative maintenance activities including cleaning, inspecting, calibrating, and replacing parts to maintain HVAC systems and associated equipment at peak performance levelsMonitor equipment operations by recording readings, making necessary adjustments, and identifying potential issues before they escalate into major problemsManage facility services responsibilities including purchasing, inventory control, contractor oversight, and technical maintenance coordinationPerform periodic inspections of tools and instrument inventory to ensure availability and proper condition of maintenance equipmentOversee and evaluate the quality and pricing of maintenance work performed by outside contractors to ensure cost-effectiveness and quality standardsMaintain compliance with departmental safety policies for the storage, usage, and disposal of hazardous materials while ensuring a clean and safe workplace environmentRequired Qualifications:
EPA 608 Universal Certification demonstrating comprehensive refrigerant handling expertise across all system typesTwo years of formal trades schooling in electrical system design, refrigeration, and HVAC technologiesPreferred Qualifications:
Experience with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) for work order tracking and maintenance documentationMulti-craft skills across multiple building systems demonstrating versatility and technical breadthKnowledge of building automation systems and controls for enhanced system monitoring and optimizationThis position does not provide visa sponsorship.
