Fire Life Safety Inspector - JLL
What this job involves:
We are seeking an entry level Fire Alarm/Fire Sprinkler Inspection Technician responsible for conducting routine inspections, testing, service, and preventative maintenance on Fire Alarm and Fire Sprinkler systems. This role combines hands-on technical work with supervised on-the-job training, ensuring optimal performance and client/tenant satisfaction while developing your technical capabilities in life safety systems.
What your day-to-day will look like:
• Perform routine inspections, testing, servicing, and preventative maintenance of life safety product lines and competitive manufacturer systems
• Accurately identify and document deficiencies found during inspections using laptops, smartphones, and hardcopy documentation
• Complete work orders and maintain highly structured inspection schedules
• Make minor repairs to systems being inspected and assist with wet, dry, pre-action, and deluge sprinkler systems
• Perform work in challenging positions including climbing ladders, scaffolding, and high lift equipment up to 40 feet
• Work within HVAC ducts, crawl spaces, and above ceilings as required
• Carry and move equipment and tools weighing up to 70 pounds
Required Qualifications:
• Willingness to learn fire alarm and fire sprinkler systems with future growth potential
• Ability to obtain and retain licenses required by National, State and Local codes
• Capability to perform physical labor including lifting 50-70 pounds
• Ability to work in unusual positions and climb equipment up to 40 feet
• Flexibility to work on-call rotation, nights, and weekends
• Strong organizational skills and positive attitude with quick learning ability
• High level of customer service and safety adherence
Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience with computers, hand tools, and multi-meter usage
• Previous experience in construction, maintenance, or technical fields
• Basic electrical or mechanical knowledge
• Fire safety or life safety systems exposure.
Location: Corvallis, OR (On-site)
Work Shift: 1st shift, 6:30am to 3pm, Monday through Friday.
Salary/Comp: $26.00 - $30.00 per hour plus comprehensive benefits package
