Responsibilities:

The Open pit cost controller will oversee the efficient management of costs within the company's support departments. The ideal candidate will assist in implementing cost control policies and procedures, ensuring they align with the company's objectives and goals.

The incumbent will be responsible for following key responsibilities: 

Play the role of Cost Controller looking after General and administrative costs. Monitor Open pit  costs and ensure they fall under the budget. Deliver on the Open pit monthly report and forecast. Produce accurate Open pit  budget.  Collaborate with department heads to identify cost-saving opportunities and recommend measures to reduce expenses Deliver the monthly Open pit  report and forecast on time, adhering to the deadlines set. Ensure full capture of Open pit  (Engineering Services and Open pit ) and Exploration costs. Contribute innovative ideas to the department. Expand knowledge of systems, including SAP, OneStream, XERAS, and AME KPIs. Work in compliance with ISO 14001 and 45001 Standards Handle other ad-hoc tasks as assigned by management.

Qualification Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in economics or equivalent. Ability to communicate easily and effectively; Ability to work under pressure, Ability to understand and apply all emergency procedures in the workplace  Be confidential for the matters that must be confidential; Ability to produce a report in a timely manner.  Work within the standards of ISO 14001 and 45001.

Experience and Skills Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Business, or related field 2+ years of experience in cost control or a related field Strong knowledge of cost accounting principles Excellent analytical and problem-solving skill Proficiency in SAP Proficiency in MS Office suite, especially advanced Excel Speaking French, English, Lingala and Swahili is to be considered  Accurate and detail-oriented Excellent communication and negotiation skills Ability to work within a team Proactive and highly organized
