Job Description

This position is responsible for the configuration and deployment support, as well as, system management functions and includes troubleshooting and design/implementation associated with ASTRO 25, WAVE VOIP and adjacent technologies for Federal, State and local government agencies requiring highly secure, easily managed, mission critical IP networks. This position reports to the on-site Sr. Mgr. Field Service Team.

Consult with Sales, Program Manager, Sr. Field Service Team Manager, and the System Integration team to set strategy, direction and implementationSupport Operations and Maintenance activities for ASTRO 25 networks and adjacent technologiesSupport technical architecture designs for ASTRO 25 and adjacent technologiesCreate and document detailed technical drawings, work plans, managed service offerings, MOPs and SOPs, etc. as required.Support the evaluation of third party vendor equipment used in our portfolioWork with third party vendors/contractors to ensure delivery of requirements set forth by the designAct in the capacity of a member of the on-site technical staff in best practices for design, implementation, and O&M activities.

Candidate Experience:

Ability to understand and/or learn MSI MS&S processes, products, and network management solutionsAbility to understand and/or learn troubleshooting and assessment of live networksUnderstanding of routing protocols: BGP, OSPF, ISIS and others as neededKnowledge of ASTRO 25 Conventional wide-area voice and data systems including OTAR/OTAP, MoM, and cyber technologies (CAC-PIV)Familiarity with LAN switching protocols: G8032 ring protectionFamiliarity with Manufacture Hardware: Juniper, Nokia, HP, FortinetKnowledge of different media types: Metro Ethernet, Frame-Relay, Ethernet, SONETKnowledge of physical layer such as: Fiber, Copper, Microwave.Experience in scripting/programming is a plus.Experience with Microsoft Visio, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Google Applications requiredExperience with use of command line and/or GUI interfaces to provision equipment is a plusFamiliarity with Network Management Applications a plus: Solarwinds, JUNO-Space, Nokia SAM/NFM-P, ProvisionSelf motivated, excellent written and oral communication skills, and strong interpersonal skills Works collaboratively and builds relationships with other colleagues, customers, and third party service professionals.

Additional Requirements:

Must be a U.S. citizen with the ability to obtain necessary security clearance as required by government contractsMust be willing to obtain a DHS Public Trust ClearanceThe role entails providing on-premises support to our valued customers in Washington D.C.

This position is subject to working in high security areas governed by the US Department of Justice's "Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) Security Policy" and therefore requires successfully passing a more stringent fingerprint background check administered by Motorola Solutions Inc. customers.

Target Base Salary Range: $75,000 - $95,000 USD

Consistent with Motorola Solutions values and applicable law, we provide the following information to promote pay transparency and equity. Pay within this range varies and depends on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The actual offer will be based on the individual candidate.


Basic RequirementsHigh School/GED and 1+ years experience in one of the following: IP Networking, Network Engineering, Solution Architecture, ASTRO 25, WAVE VOIP, LMR, RF Systems, Radio Frequency, Radio Communications, Wired/Wireless Communication Systems, IT, Motorola, or Military experienceMust be a U.S. citizen with ability to obtain necessary security clearance as required by government contract(s)
