History of the Company: Superior Ambulance Service started in 1959 with one ambulance and today is the largest independent, locally owned, and operated emergency medical services provider in the Midwest. Superior employs more than 3,500 licensed EMTs, Paramedics and Nurses, operating a fleet of more than 800 ambulances throughout Illinois, Indiana, Ohio, Michigan, and Wisconsin. Superior also provides Critical Care, helicopter, and fixed wing emergency medical transportation.
The On-Site Coordinator acts as a liaison between Superior Air-Ground Ambulance and the Hospital, communicating and continuing to develop to the ever changing transport needs of the hospital. The On-Site Coordinator also works as support staff for the transfer center, discharge planners and social workers to assist in arranging and expediting transports coming into and leaving the hospital. View/arrange asap or pre-scheduled calls and assist in making sure that proper paperwork is filled out correctly.
Responsibilities
Answer and arrange transportation both emergent and non-emergent, including determining level of care requiredView pre-scheduled calls, make necessary adjustments with hospital staff and dispatchPrioritize transports to fulfill the hospital needs including specialty and critical care transports as well as flight requestsProvide accurate and appropriate ETA’s (Estimated time of arrival)Make rounds on the floorsAttend hospital huddlesAssist in organizing patient belongings and patient paperwork for transportAssist in making sure crews are arriving to the patients in a timely mannerAssist Superior Ambulance billing department with PCS/insurance requestsProvide information and assistance regarding billing proceduresEstablish relationships with hospital staffDevelop effective solutions for customer service issuesEffective communications, both written and verbalPossess critical thinking skillsOther duties as assigned
Qualifications
Pleasant, professional phone mannerDetail orientedTyping skills of 30 wpm or betterAbility to excel in high-stress environmentAdapt to frequently changing policiesAbility to learn policies and procedures for facilities and recognizing when to apply them.Medical background a plusEMD certification will be required within 1 year of employment

Salary Range
USD $18.00 - USD $20.00 /Hr. rates offered based on years of experience and full time scheduled templates. Additional earnings via bi-weekly bonus up to $4.00 /HR.
