**Job Description:**
**Duties/Responsibilities:**
Essential Duties and Responsibilities of Team Leader includes but is not limited to the following:
+ Demonstrates clinical expertise through excellent assessment of physical, mental, and psychological status of patients using age-appropriate knowledge to ensure care standards are met for the patient population
+ Plans, evaluates and supervises care for all patients and others as assigned utilizing Core Values in the areas of service, team work, communication, respect for others and time/ priority management.
+ Consistently models effective interpersonal and leadership skills necessary to promote effective collaborative working relationships with all members of the healthcare team to provide excellent service to patients served.
+ Assists manager with daily operation of the unit to accomplish departmental goals
+ Identifies and assesses staff educational needs; develops and delivers evidence-based curricula to support clinical competency, orientation, and leadership development; and continuously evaluates the effectiveness of educational programs in collaboration with department leadership.
+ Participates in change process and development of innovative solutions to clinical issues that improve patient care, the work environment, and patient and staff satisfaction
+ Supports the integration of quality, audit, evaluation data and research into practice and educational programs
+ Facilitates teambuilding and leadership development and seeks out opportunities to serve as change leader for assigned practice areas
+ Creates an environment that recognizes, encourages and rewards excellent clinical nursing practice performance.
+ Demonstrates sound judgment and critical thinking skills.
+ Demonstrates leadership in patient management which may include real time service recovery
+ Demonstrates skills necessary to assist with augmentation, development, and implementation of policies and procedures based upon evidence based best practices and specialty standards.
+ Collaborates and demonstrates interpersonal leadership skills with physicians, specialists, all inpatient/ outpatient nursing units, admitting, supervisors, and all health care team members promoting successful communication that is patient centered.
+ Demonstrates the ability to deal effectively with stress relating to the changing organizational environment, personnel and patient care issues.
+ Collaborates with interdisciplinary departments to facilitate flow of patients in and out of the department in a timely fashion.
+ Provides mentorship and clinical support to staff by fostering professional development, participating in performance evaluations, and collaborating with the Nurse Director to enhance clinical competency and knowledge across the care team
+ Ensure unit and staff are in compliance with Regulatory Requirements
+ Assures inventory is performed on all specialty carts, and equipment.
+ Ensures all real time documentation is complete and performs all audits specific to clinical area, as indicated
+ Attends 90% of the Team Leader team meetings.
+ Attends 90% of unit-based staff meetings.
+ Assist the Nurse Director in reviewing departmental revenue by supporting charge capture audits within the EMR to ensure accurate and complete documentation for billable services
+ Supports the department in the development, implementation, and evaluation of departmental policies to ensure alignment with best practices and organization
+ Collaborates with providers and Patient Access to support efficient and appropriate patient scheduling, including periodic audits to ensure alignment with clinical needs and scheduling protocols.
+ Provides collaborative support to interdisciplinary team to promote high-quality patient care, reduce gaps in care delivery, and enhance interdisciplinary coordination.

**Minimum Requirements:**
+ ASN, BSN; OR other advance degree considered; OR current enrollment in BSN program with completion within 1 year of hire into Team Lead position
+ Current Oncology RN experience required in the Cancer Center, Charge RN experience preferred with demonstrated leadership skills.
+ Minimum of 2 year’s RN experience in nursing area required
+ AHA Basic Life Support required
+ OCN or ONS/ONCC Chemotherapy Immunotherapy Certification required
+ Current MA RN License required
