Oncology Registered Nurse
*GREAT OPPORTUNITY TO GET INTO CLINICAL RESEARCH**Job Title: Oncology Clinical Research Nurse

Job Description

This role involves overseeing patient visits for phase 1 clinical trials, including taking vitals and collecting specimens to ensure they are delivered to the appropriate lab. You will see 5-7 patients a day across all trials, working collaboratively with your team on various disease groups. Responsibilities are shared among team members, with daily patient visits divided as a team effort. Visit durations range from 1 to 8 hours. You will also perform charting using EPIC, but will not be responsible for data and regulatory work or patient recruitment.

Responsibilities

Conduct patient visits for phase 1 clinical trials.Take vitals and collect specimens during visits.Ensure specimens are delivered to the appropriate lab.Collaborate with the team to manage workload across all disease groups.Perform charting using EPIC.

Essential Skills

Experience in oncology nursing.Proficient in taking patient vitals and blood draws.State of Indiana Registered Nursing license.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

Certified chemotherapy nurse certification is a plus. Clinical Research experience is a plus.

Work Environment

You will work in a team setting with a schedule of four 10-hour shifts from Monday to Thursday, starting at 7:00 am. There is a mandatory meeting on Friday morning from 8:30 to 9:00 am, with the option to flex time earlier in the week to account for this half-day. Occasionally, you may need to drive to the South Cancer Center to cover patient visits if a team member is unavailable. The organization offers training for oncology nurses in research.

Job Type & Location

This is a 6 month Contract-to-Hire position based out of Indianapolis, Indiana.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $45.00/hr.
