Oncology Quality Coordinator - Registered Nurse (RN)
Collaborates with the Manager of Oncology Quality to lead the implementation of quality improvement and patient safety initiatives for all outpatient oncology clinics and infusion centers at all locations., along with the mix-acuity inpatient oncology unit, and support services.

Facilitate improvement projects utilizing a range of quality tools including those from Lean, Six Sigma, project management, and change management. Project deliverables include improved performance in patient and team member safety, clinical quality, operational efficiency, and patient experience. Facilitates problem solving and quality improvement efforts, utilizing continuous quality improvement and project management tools.Collects, analyzes, and displays quantitative and qualitative data for purposes of identifying and understanding opportunities for improvement.Provides expertise and support the activities of the lean management system (LMS) and process improvement within oncology clinics, infusion centers, inpatient units, and support services.Partners with clinicians and NECs to support the NPGO champion model for clinic and infusion, helping to ensure best practices are tested and implemented, limiting variation in practice across geographic locations.Develops action plans and coordinates improvement projects to support best practices, regulatory compliance, and strategic initiatives.Collaborates with the Manager of Cancer Quality, oncology leadership, and staff to identify opportunities and develop action plans to drive improvement of patient care, treatment, and services.Collaborates with the oncology data and registry teams to ensure the aggregation and analysis of data for the program including required CoC & NAPBC reporting, quality indicators, compliance measures, and other ad-hoc reports are done successfully.Continuously supports the maintenance of Oncology Service Line data and related databases and dashboards.Communicates oncology related quality outcomes, safety issues, and regulatory issues to appropriate staff and other involved disciplines/clinical areas involved in the care of oncology patients.Conducts audits as needed to assess compliance.Develops and maintains the quality assessment/performance improvement (QAPI) program for oncology services in collaboration with the manager of Cancer Quality.Works in close collaboration with quality/risk management in analyzing and responding to adverse events that may occur in the oncology patient population.Facilitates patient event reviews as needed, driving timely and thorough analysis.Drives revisions and maintains change control for Oncology Service Line policies, procedures, and guidelines.Maintains knowledge and expertise in requirements related to oncology-related accreditations CoC and NAPBC, and The Joint Commission standards for the hospital program.Oversees preparation and reporting activities related to regulatory requirements.Leads and assists in coordinating scheduling and activities of announced surveys/reviews and activities for unannounced surveys/reviews.Proactively ensures the Oncology Service Line maintains continuous compliance with all requirements.Provides educational support to all departments and units in the areas of oncology quality improvement, patient safety, accreditation, and other regulatory standards.In addition to the above job responsibilities, other duties may be assigned.Position Compensation Range: $81,078.40 - $129,729.60 Annual

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Education: Graduate of an accredited nursing program; bachelor's degree required.

Experience: 3 years of clinical quality or regulatory experience required; clinical quality or regulatory experience in oncology services preferred. 

Licensure: RN license required.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Proficient communicative, auditory and visual skills; Attention to detail and ability to write legibly; Ability to lift/push/pull 20lbs.
