Oncology Navigation Manager

RESPONSIBLE FOR:
The Oncology Navigator Manager provides leadership, coaching and mentoring of the oncology navigation team in order to ensure appropriate support is provided to patients and caregivers through their continuum of care and through their decision making process. The navigation team gathers required information from patients or external sources to enable a thorough clinical evaluation. Assembles appropriate clinical information for prospective review by the multidisciplinary tumor board or treating physician. Coordinates additional testing procedures as directed by the tumor board or treating physician. Educates patients about the prescribed treatment plan. Routes patients to complementary support services as needed. Triages general patient/physician calls regarding Oncology Services. Provides community education and outreach services that promote this patient centered care model. The manager supports the team in supervising and coordinating these responsibilities to ensure appropriate care and coordination is provided.

Qualifications:

MINIMUM EDUCATION REQUIRED:
Graduate from an accredited school of nursing.

MINIMUM EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
Five (5) years of navigation experience, preferably in an oncology outpatient setting.

MINIMUM LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION REQUIRED BY LAW:
Current License in the State of Georgia as a Registered Nurse or NLC/eNLC Multistate License.

ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:
Oncology certified nurse preferred.
