Description
The On-Site Data Coordinator will be responsible for clinical data coordination and management for the Georgia Center. This role involves using the MACDP system to identify eligible cases, retrieve vital records data, and maintain electronic lists of potential participants. The coordinator will transfer clinical and contact information from the MACDP system to the CBDRP databases, confirm that controls do not have eligible birth defects, and identify co-siblings of eligible cases. They will code birth defects data, review codes for accuracy, determine preliminary case eligibility, and flag subjects for review. The coordinator will also follow up on cases, track pending cases, and update the CBDRP clinical database. They will securely transfer contact information to off-site interview staff, update databases with new information, and correct discrepancies. Additionally, they will maintain updated SOPs on clinical data management and coordination activities, catalogue and archive consent forms, and perform quarterly quality control on the case identification and eligibility review process.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide on-site clinical data coordination for the Georgia CBDRP site.
Identify eligible cases from the MACDP system using established protocols and procedures.
Retrieve vital records data (e.g., birth certificate, fetal death certificate) on potential new cases.
Maintain electronic lists of potential participants.
Transfer clinical and contact information from the MACDP system to the CBDRP clinical and contact information databases.
Confirm that controls previously entered into the CBDRP clinical database do not have an eligible birth defect in the MACDP system.
Identify co-siblings of eligible cases and controls for multiple gestation pregnancies and enter relevant information into the CBDRP clinical database.
Code birth defects data using a modified version of ICD-9 or ICD-10 provided by CDC.
Review codes transferred from the MACDP system to ensure accuracy in the CBDRP clinical database.
Determine preliminary case eligibility and flag subjects for review by clinician reviewers.
Follow up on identified cases and request additional medical or contact information from MACDP coordinators and abstractors when needed.
Track pending cases and collect clinical data from clinicians, abstractors, and data managers to update the CBDRP clinical database.
Flag eligible case subjects for interview by off-site contract interview staff.
Securely transfer eligible subject contact information to off-site interviewing staff at least weekly.
Update the contact information database with new information from off-site interviewing staff at least weekly.
Update demographic and clinical data on potential participants in the CDC-provided contact information database.
Enter data on new cases and update or complete data on existing participants in the CDC-provided clinical database.
Correct discrepancies identified by the CDC data manager following the clinical database monthly synchronization.
Maintain updated SOPs on clinical data management and coordination activities.
Catalogue and securely archive additional activity consent forms from Georgia participants.
Perform quarterly quality control on the case identification and eligibility review process for Georgia subjects.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree
5+ years of experience in the fields of nursing, medical records technology, project management, or related areas of medical record abstraction, data collection, and project management and coordination.
Certificates of confidentiality, federal standards of privacy, Microsoft Office
Experience in clinical data coordination and management.
Familiarity with the MACDP system and CBDRP databases.
Proficiency in coding birth defects data using ICD-9 or ICD-10.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data management.
Ability to follow established protocols and procedures.
Excellent communication and organizational skills.
Ability to securely transfer and update contact information databases.

Pay Range - There are multiple factors that are considered in determining final pay for a position, including, but not limited to, relevant work experience, skills, certifications and competencies that align to the specified role, geographic location, education and certifications as well as contract provisions regarding labor categories that are specific to the position.
The pay range for this position based on full-time employment is:
$89,203.00 - $151,646.00Georgia Remote Office (GA99)
