A part of the Texas A&M University Health Science Center, Texas A&M College of Dentistry (https://dentistry.tamu.edu/) in Dallas was founded in 1905 and is a nationally recognized center for oral health sciences education, research, specialized patient care and continuing dental education. The department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery (OMS) is a highly esteemed department renowned for providing comprehensive oral and maxillofacial surgical care to the Dallas-Fort Worth (DFW) and North Texas community. With a team of board-certified oral and maxillofacial surgeons, the department offers a wide range of services and is staffed by nationally recognized faculty members who also serve the community through the university faculty practices. The department takes pride in its commitment to education and training and provides valuable opportunities for dental and medical students to learn and excel in the field through the OMS residency program.
In addition to clinical excellence, the department is actively involved in research initiatives aimed at enhancing the diagnosis and treatment of oral and maxillofacial diseases. Both faculty and students engage in research projects, demonstrating their dedication to advancing the field of oral and maxillofacial surgery.

What you need to know
Position: This is a part-time position. This is a wage position established to accommodate a temporary organizational need. As such, Texas A&M does not guarantee any set number of hours or length of employment in this role.
Salary: Salary will be commensurate based on selected hire's qualifications.

Qualifications
Required Education and Experience
+ Bachelor’s degree in applicable field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
+ Five years of related healthcare experience.
Preferred Qualifications
+ Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Business or Healthcare Administration, or related discipline.
+ Supervisory/management experience.
+ Experience in negotiation.
+ Related experience in a dental/medical/clinical/healthcare setting.
+ TAMUS or related higher education experience.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
+ Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others.
+ Knowledge of word processing and spreadsheet applications.
+ Strong interpersonal, planning, and organizational skills.
Responsibilities
+ Revenue Cycle & Operations: Coordinates departmental insurance, claim resolution and revenue cycle operations. Monitors revenue cycle performance, identifies areas for improvement, and implements strategies to optimize revenue. Oversees the entire process of patient billing, coding, and collections. Develops and implements high-level work plans, schedules, and budgets for large projects.
+ Implements and optimizes revenue cycle processes to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
+ Ensures accurate and timely submission of claims to insurance providers and manages claim denials.
+ Staff Management: Leads, trains, and develops a team of revenue cycle staff. Provides supervision and oversight to assigned staff members.
+ Financial Oversight: Monitors department compliance and ensures adherence to all relevant regulations, including HIPAA and other payer requirements. Maintains financial and budget records for the department. Coordinates with Accounting and Budget groups to ensure fiscal responsibility.
+ Department Relations: Serves as primary and reputable department representative, establishing and maintaining strong relationships in all communications. Effectively communicates with insurance providers, patients, and other stakeholders regarding billing and payment matters.
