Within our branches, we offer insurance, transactional banking and lending products as well as servicing.

Performs quality assurance checks for applications developed in house, packaged, or third-party hosted, using a variety of manual and automated tools. Develops and implements quality assurance, problem reporting processes and systems. OML roles mapped to this profile are: IT Quality Engineer and Senior Quality Engineer.

Old Mutual Finance is currently seeking to hire a Quality Engineer.  This is a nationally based role that forms part of the Old Mutual Finance Information Technology Team.

In This Role, You will get to:

Design test cases and perform testing of applications.

Perform both manual and automated testing.

Identify, document and track bugs.

Perform re-testing when bugs are resolved.

Perform regression testing when needed.

Understanding of UI and backend testing.

Analyse test results and work with development teams to resolve issues.

Maintain documentation of test procedures and results.

Perform initial analysis for technical issues and work closely with developers to reproduce and solve problems.

Work within an Agile environment.

Maintain documentation of test procedures and results.

IT Service Delivery

Completes Test Strategy and has a high-level understanding of all projects.

Manages testing, including achievement of milestones and deliverables.

Provides quality control and improvement of processes and outputs.

Undertakes operational and technical aspects of processing information, data evaluation and analysis.

Identifies automation tests and develops automated tests.

Reporting

Manages effective communication with all stakeholders.

Keep all stakeholders updated on the outcome of test execution results.

Risk Management

Identifies impending risks that may compromise the achievement of deliverables and initiates steps to mitigate risk.

Stakeholder Management

Builds and maintains relationships with relevant internal/external stakeholders.

Understands the requirements and where applicable, liaises, communicates and provides assistance.

Team Effectiveness

Ensures SDLC Testing component is met.

Manages the testing component within agreed timetables.

Assists with providing strategic direction, test planning, scopes the testing required, estimates the effort and duration of testing, and determines resource and environment requirements.

Contributes to automation projects and SDKs.

Technical Consultation

Contributes knowledge and expertise where required for peer review and to projects being undertaken by other business units.

What You Will Need To Succeed:

A Matric or Grade 12 equivalent and a minimum of 3 years experience in a similar role.

ISTQB Foundation certification.

Automation testing experience.

Object Object-oriented programming knowledge.

Relevant tertiary qualifications are advantageous.

Agile certification is advantageous.

Execute automation tests via Jenkins

Functional Testing

Smoke Testing

Develop automation tests using Java and Selenium

Proficiency in testing tools and methodologies.

Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.

Ability to script and run SQL statements.
