About the role
Reporting to the Mill Superintendent, the incumbent will be responsible for ensuring that the National trainees and operators are trained in accordance with the Mill Safety and Training Procedures incorporating a Competency Based System that meets NPL standards.
In this role, you will:
Participate in periodical reviews of training manuals and current procedures Help develop, and deliver in house CBT programs for Mill department personnel Maintain accurate records for in house Mill training programs and Safety statistics within the Mill Department Report on all training programs being delivered and/or assessed and personnel under training List resources required to implement training programs for submission to the Mill Superintendent Maintain training resources including lesson plans for efficient usage Implement on the job training as per the training plan for the job Conduct inductions for personnel into the Mill Operation’s sections/areas To train the National personnel in best practice, safety, environmental, plant operations, troubleshooting, reporting of faults and taking the necessary remedial and corrective action in the area of their responsibility Assist Mill Foremen with constructive ideas to maximize training in all areas of Mill operations Promote sections of the PNG Mining (Safety) Act, highlighting sections 274, 281 & 45 Manage incident reporting and reviewing via INX as well as actively involved to close out actions Manage EMS compliance in the plant and ensure all requirements are satisfied Maintain a high level of health, safety and environmental awareness and comply with all relevant NPL policies & procedures.About You
To succeed in this role, the ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications and experience.
Grade 10 or above formal educational qualification Train the trainer / Certificate IV in Assessment and Workplace Training (or equivalent) At least 5 years process plant experience and preferably as a trainer Ability to read and interpret documents such as policies and procedures, operating instructions and SOPs Able to competently operate all, or most of the equipment used within all areas of the Mill Department Good communication & writing presentation skills Total commitment to the training of PNG National citizens Computer literacy and competent in MS Office applications (Work, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) Commitment to Safety and Environment Attention to Detail: Strong attention to detail to ensure accurate data collection and analysis. Working knowledge of an LMS or some form of Training data software Knowledge of specific industry standards and regulations (e.g., ISO standards).Mobilization Requirement
