Job Description

AECOM is actively seeking an Office Engineer for immediate employment in San Diego, CA.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

Support the Resident Engineer in providing construction administration on transportation projectsCoordinate activities between office staff and field staff to ensure smooth project operationsManage and maintain the document filing system for all project-related materialsCreate and update project logs to track progress, issues, and resolutionsDraft and process contract documents, including change orders and pay applications, for the Resident Engineer's reviewReview and process submittals and Requests for Information (RFIs) in a timely mannerAssist in the preparation of daily, weekly, and monthly project reportsCoordinate with contractors, subcontractors, and other stakeholders to resolve issues and maintain project schedulesMonitor project budgets and assist in cost control measuresEnsure compliance with contract specifications, local regulations, and safety standardsParticipate in project meetings and site visits as requiredAssist in the development and implementation of project-specific quality control proceduresCoordinate with the project team to prepare and maintain as-built drawingsSupport the closeout process by compiling necessary documentation and resolving any outstanding itemsStay current with industry standards, best practices, and technological advancements in construction administration

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements

BA/BS+ 4 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.

Experience as office engineer on public works transportation projects with construction value $20M+. 

Excellent Communication Skills 

Strong understanding of industry standard processes for submittals, RFI’s, change orders, and pay applications 

Experience writing and processing change orders

Motor vehicle check required

Preferred Qualifications

California PE License or ability to obtain within 2 years

Experience working on Railroad or Highway Bridge projects
