No County Albany Street Address 93 Broadway City Menands State NY Zip Code 12204 Duties Description • Receive warehouse deliveries.• Distribute materials, publications, and other promotional items.• Retrieve and deliver product for tenant agencies at offsite locations.• Data entry and maintain accountability of warehouse items using inventory system.• Perform support and clerical work such as Bill of Lading and document preparation, scheduling, tracking, and other related activities. Maintain accurate records.• Operate material handling equipment and perform routine preventative maintenance.• Proficiently utilize Microsoft Excel/Word and various program specific applications.• Perform other duties as assigned.Operational Duties:• Possession and maintenance of a valid Driver’s License issued by the NYS Department of Motor Vehicle is required. Occasional operation of a motor vehicle will be required.• Ability to bend, lift, climb, stand, and walk for long periods of time.• Ability to lift a minimum 45 pounds.• Ability to operate a variety of materials handling equipment such as forklifts and pallet jacks. Successful completion of OSHA forklift training and certification is required.• Obtain and maintain certification in CPR and comply with established safety procedures.• Flexibility to work in environments of fluctuating temperatures including limited periods outside, year-round.• May be required to respond to emergencies 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Minimum Qualifications This title is part of the New York Hiring for Emergency Limited Placement Statewide Program (NY HELPS)* and applicants must meet the following minimum qualifications to be considered for this position:There are no minimum education or experience requirements for this title.Applicants may be appointed to this position if currently reachable on the appropriate eligible list for this title OR are a current New York State employee with one year or more of qualifying permanent service in a position allocated to a Grade 06 or above and eligible for transfer under Section 70.1 of the Civil Service Law.NOTE: IN ORDER TO AWARD THE PROPER CREDIT FOR WORK EXPERIENCE, RESUMES MUST INCLUDE MONTH AND YEAR FOR START AND END DATES. IF ANY OF THIS EXPERIENCE IS LESS THAN FULL TIME YOU MUST INDICATE THE AVERAGE NUMBER OF HOURS WORKED PER WEEK. Candidates hired via NY HELPS will be appointed on a permanent non-competitive basis and will begin a probationary period.At a future date (within one year of permanent appointment), it is expected that NY HELPS employees will have their non-competitive employment status converted to competitive status, without having to take an exam.
