Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and organized Office Administrator to support the smooth operation of our office environment. The ideal candidate will possess strong administrative skills and assist in facilitating efficient office functions, project coordination, and process improvements. This role is essential in ensuring that our office operates seamlessly and supports our mission to advance the broader chemistry enterprise.

Responsibilities

Office Operations Support: Assist with day-to-day office operations, including facilities coordination, procurement support, and vendor communication. Help ensure the office operates smoothly and efficiently.Project Support: Support special projects as assigned by management, including coordination, tracking, and follow-up to help ensure projects are completed on time.Administrative Support: Provide administrative support to managers and team members, including scheduling, correspondence, document preparation, and meeting coordination. Serve as a point of contact for general office inquiries.Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to improve office processes and workflows and assist with implementing approved changes.Compliance and Policy Support: Help ensure office policies and procedures are followed and assist with documentation and updates as needed.Event and Meeting Coordination: Assist with planning and coordinating meetings, events, and conferences, handling logistics and materials.Technology and Systems Support: Coordinate with IT and vendors to support office equipment and systems; help troubleshoot routine issues and track service requests.

Essential Skills

Minimum of 3–5 years of experience in office administration or a related role.Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks.Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.Experience with administrative support, including processing invoices and scheduling.Familiarity with tools such as Visio, Smartsheet, Basware, or ChromeRiver is a plus.Proficiency in Adobe.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of Washington, DC.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $30.00/hr.
