Off-Track Herbicide Applicator
**Description** **Off-Track Herbicide Applicator** Asplundh Railroad Division currently has _nationwide_ openings for entry-level Herbicide Applicators to work for our Railroad Division based out of the Ironton, OH facility. Applicators will be responsible to spray herbicides on and around railroad tracks and crossings. Applicators will be responsible for daily activity reports, chemical mixing, inventory, customer service and overall performance of job duties as instructed while ensuring all work is performed safely and efficiently. While experience is preferred, we do offer extensive training and continuing education. We offer a competitive starting salary and benefits package along with the opportunity to be a part of a growth-oriented organization. **Job Type** :Full-Time +, Non-Exempt **Pay** :Competitive, Hourly **Essential Functions & Responsibilities:** + Operates light on heavy vehicles, tools, and equipment in the application of various pesticides and lawn care functions, e.g. trucks, sprayers, tractors. + Applies pesticides as needed in accordance with prescribed use and within accepted industry practices, and rules and requirements of various Federal, State, and local regulatory agencies. + Prepares and mixes chemical agents used in the trade; prepares work area prior to the beginning job and cleans area after completion of the job. + Ensures the safe and appropriate use of various chemicals agents and substances, mixing such according to label instruction and product specifications, and using in accordance with prescribed safety precautions and directions. + Performs other duties as required. **Minimum Qualifications:** + Must be 21 years-of-age or older. + Good Motor Vehicle Driving Record + Willing to Travel throughout the US for a minimum of 4-6 weeks at a time + Ability to work independently + Analytical skills and be able to synthesize complex or diverse information. + Problem-solving skills and be able to identify and resolve problems in a timely manner. + Gather and analyze information skillfully, develop alternative solutions, and work well in group problem-solving situations. + Dependability - Follows instructions, responds to management direction; Takes responsibility for own actions, keeps commitments.
