Occupational Therapy Assistant - ST
Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) – School-Based Location: San Ysidro, CA Start Date: ASAP (School resumes 1/13) Contract Length: Through end of school year (approx. 20 weeks, last day 6/10) Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM (40 hours/week) Grade Level: K–6th Caseload: 60–70 students Setting: In-person, assigned to 2–3 school sites Interview: Virtual interview required Position Overview Under the supervision of an Occupational Therapist, the Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) will provide occupational therapy services to students in a school setting. Responsibilities include implementing treatment plans, conducting standardized assessments, collecting data, and documenting services in accordance with each student’s plan of care. Key Responsibilities + Deliver occupational therapy services under OT supervision. + Implement treatment plans and interventions. + Collect and report standardized assessment data. + Maintain accurate documentation of services. + Collaborate with teachers, staff, and parents to support student success. Minimum Requirements + Current certification/licensure as an Occupational Therapy Assistant in California. + Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program. + One (1) year of experience as a COTA preferred. + Pediatric experience strongly preferred. + Familiarity with professional standards of practice. + Current CPR certification (if applicable). + TB questionnaire, PPD, or chest X-ray (if applicable). + Current health certificate (per contract or state regulation). + Must meet all federal, state, and local requirements. + Must be at least 18 years of age. Compensation + Local Pay Rate: Up to $50/hour + Travel Package: Approx. $2,260/week Additional Notes + Bilingual candidates preferred but not required. + Support available from another COTA on-site.
