As part of a multidisciplinary team and under the supervision of an Occupational Therapist, Occupational Therapy Assistants (OTA) deliver group & individualized services to clients of the Vocational Rehabilitation Department. The OTA works with clients and their relevant others to habilitate & restore their ability to participate in daily occupations, such as ADL, IADL, work and community activities. The OTA works to accommodate the effects of disabilities to improve the quality of life and maximize personal and occupational functionality.
Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:
1. Completion of an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program.
2. Current with all Continuing Education (CE) requirements.
3. Perform clinical care professionally.
4. Serve as client advocate and role model to other Team Members.
5. Ability to effectively work on a multidisciplinary team.
5. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Preferred:
1. Computer skills, including Microsoft Office & Google Suite.
2. Experience with students/adults with disabilities in a school or program setting.
3. Prior work experience with school age and young adult people with disabilities, uses people-first language.
Licenses and Certifications Required:
1. Occupational Therapist Assistant License or Occupational Therapist Assistant Certification.
2. Valid Driver's License from a USA state.
