AdventHealth Kissimmee has recently expanded our existing tower by 3-floors and 80-beds, including new ancillary spaces such as Inpatient Rehab, Inpatient Dialysis, Laboratory, and Imaging services.

The role youll contribute:

Provides direct and indirect services in the acute care, inpatient and/or outpatient rehabilitation settings. Utilizes process improvement in achieving the goals of the Rehabilitation Department. Adheres to the Florida Hospital Corporate Compliance Plan and to all rules and regulations of all applicable local, state and federal agencies, and accrediting bodies. May supervise other Occupational Therapy Assistants, Occupational Therapy Assistant interns, volunteers, and technical aides. Actively participates in outstanding customer service and accepts responsibility in maintaining relationships that are equally respectful to all.

The value youll bring to the team:

Based on the therapist evaluation findings and goals, the therapy assistant implements an individualized treatment plan of care utilizing Practice Standards and recommended techniques, insurance guidelines and patients needs. Modifies treatment plan as appropriate based upon on-going assessments and consultation with the Occupational Therapist. Collects patient data and communicates to the Occupational Therapist regarding discharge recommendations when maximum benefit has been achieved and/or according to the standards of practice and payer guidelines.

Documents accurately, completely, and timely with legible handwriting. Uses measurable and objective terminology, following standards of practice, insurance guidelines and department /hospital policy and procedures.

Charges patients accurately, timely and legibly according to guidelines of the CPT code format and according to insurance guidelines.

Identifies the need for patient/caregiver education and utilizes each opportunity for teaching on a planned or spontaneous basis, including discharge recommendations. Documents education and understanding as appropriate.

Qualifications

The expertise and experiences youll need to succeed :

Associate in Occupational Therapy.

COTA - Occupational Therapy Assistant Certified State of Florida

BCLS - Basic Life Support
