POSITION SUMMARY Responsible for identification of needs and delivery of services to patients who require Occupational Therapy intervention in accordance with all state and federal regulations. Collaborates with center staff to promote the highest possible physical, mental and psychosocial well-being for the patients.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES
• Screens, evaluates and develops programs for implementation for all patients as needed.
• Supervises Occupational Therapist Assistants and aides according to state guidelines.
• Develops effective occupational therapy treatment plans and goals to meet each patient’s needs.
• Collaborates/communicates effectively with other center team members to ensure optimal patient care and progress.
• Demonstrates ability and willingness to attain productivity benchmark.
• Completes documentation/billing timely, and accurately. Ensures MD orders are obtained according to company policy and procedures.
• Willingly accepts the supervision of Occupational Therapy Assistant students as requested according to state, federal, and Occupational Therapy Practice Act guidelines. • Reports all instances of abuse or neglect or other concerns to management.
• Attends and participates in orientation, training, and in-service education, and staff meetings. Ensures all mandatory training is completed on time.
• Performs other duties as may be assigned by appropriate MFA management.
• Complies with pertinent laws, regulations, and MFA policies and procedures. Complies with AOTA code of ethics and State Practice Act.
• Performs duties in accordance with the MFA Corporate Compliance program.
• Takes an active role in the center’s safety and health programs.
• Is supportive of the state survey process, responding in an appropriate and timely manner.
