Position Overview
The Occupational Therapist (OT) is responsible for delivering high-quality school-based therapy services to students across multiple rural school sites. This includes conducting evaluations, developing individualized plans of care, providing direct therapy, offering consultative support to staff, and ensuring thorough documentation in alignment with district, state, and federal guidelines. The position is structured as half consultation and half direct service.
Key ResponsibilitiesEvaluation & Planning
+ Conduct comprehensive student evaluations following district and state standards.
+ Develop individualized plans of care tailored to student needs.
+ Participate in IEP meetings and collaborate with interdisciplinary team members.
Therapy Services
+ Provide direct occupational therapy services to students across assigned school sites.
+ Deliver consultative support to teachers, paraprofessionals, and families to promote functional skill development.
+ Modify therapeutic approaches to meet diverse developmental and functional needs.
Documentation & Compliance
+ Maintain timely, accurate, and compliant documentation for evaluations, therapy sessions, and progress notes.
+ Adhere to all professional, ethical, state, and federal standards of practice.
+ Follow all district and departmental procedures and reporting requirements.
Schedule & Work Environment
+ Full-Time: 40 hours per week
+ Work Hours: 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM
+ Caseload of 50+ students
+ Half Consultation / Half Direct Services
+ Travel required between rural schools
+ District vehicle available for work-related travel
Minimum Requirements
+ Current state licensure as an Occupational Therapist
+ One (1) year of professional OT experience preferred
+ Compliance with professional standards and scope of practice
+ Current CPR (if required by district)
+ TB questionnaire, PPD, or chest X-ray (if applicable)
+ Current health certificate (as required by state or contract)
+ Meets all federal, state, and local compliance requirements
+ Must be at least 18 years of age
