Key Responsibilities

Treatment & Patient Care

Implement personalized treatment plans and adapt as neededSelect therapeutic activities to help patients meet functional goalsEducate and train patients and families throughout the care processProvide clear discharge plans, referrals, and community resourcesServe as a clinical resource for staff, physicians, and families

Assessment & Planning

Collaborate with physicians to develop and evaluate treatment goalsSet realistic, patient-centered goals for therapy and dischargeEngage patients and families in care planning

Documentation

Maintain thorough, timely, and accurate documentation per guidelinesComplete evaluations, daily notes, family education, and discharge paperwork

Professional Conduct & Collaboration

Demonstrate integrity, accountability, and ethical behaviorMaintain confidentiality and follow attendance, dress code, and safety protocolsCommunicate clearly and professionally with all team membersParticipating in meetings, training, and process improvement initiatives

Customer Service & Team Culture

Create a positive experience for patients and co-workersFollow AIDET communication principles (Acknowledge, Introduce, Duration, Explanation, Thank You)Foster a respectful, collaborative, and supportive team environmentApply service recovery techniques when needed

Professional Growth

Stay current through continuing education and professional developmentMaintain licensure and complete required competenciesSupport onboarding and training of new staff

Other Duties

Perform additional responsibilities as assignedAdhere to all Wellstar Health System policies, standards, and code of conduct

Required EducationBachelor's or Master's Degree in Occupational Therapy required.

Licenses & Certifications

Occupational Therapist (OT) License required.Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification from AHA required.

Strong communication and interpersonal skillsTeam-oriented and customer service-focusedBasic computer proficiency
