The Occupational Health Care Coach will work closely with the organization’s management and employees to assess work environment, identifying modifications needed to support a safer and more efficient workplace. The coach will create partnerships to empower individuals to take ownership, leadership, and accountability of their well-being, using nondirective, empathic, and mindful conversations that employ motivational-interviewing and evidence-based approaches. The ideal candidate is creative, proactive, and capable of independently building wellness initiatives. 

A caregiver in this position works 9:00am—4:00pm. This position will travel to both Lippman and Wooster locations. Monday & Thursday (Lippman), Tuesday & Friday (Wooster). 

 

A caregiver who excels in this role will:   

Collaborate with client organizations to identify and implement ways to minimize workplace hazards. 

Observe, assess, analyze, and document the movements and activities of client organizations' employees. 

Create and implement programs that will assist employees to avoid repetitive stress, cumulative trauma, and other injuries and impairments.  

Collaborate with client organization supervisors and managers to offer practical suggestions to enhance the safety and productivity of work environments. 

Provide training as needed to client employees regarding proper body positioning, movement standards, and other injury prevention techniques. 

Develop and maintain related records and reports of observations, recommendations, and implementation procedures. 

Develop programs to empower individuals to take accountability for their own well-being. 

Other duties as assigned. 

 

Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:   

Associate’s Degree or Bachelor’s Degree in Physical Therapy, Physical, Dietary, Nutrition, or Ergonomics 

Excellent verbal and written communication skills 

Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or related software 

Excellent interpersonal skills 

Resourceful and creative problem-solving skills 

Thorough understanding of human behavior and musculoskeletal functions 

Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail 

Can conduct and correctly analyze risk assessments and evaluations

Physical Requirements:

Prolonged periods of standing and sitting.

Lifting, pushing, pulling required to set up ergonomic sandbox and making the necessary changes within the workplace.

Personal Protective Equipment:

PPE as required at each Occupational health office, or onsite location
