This role can be based out of one our main offices: Stellarton, NS; Mississauga, ON and Calgary, AB. **As an Occupancy Accountant, you will:** + Accurately prepare and post entries and account for transactions in the general ledger + Prepare and review working papers that support account balances, investigate errors, and facilitate corrections + Understand Occupancy Accounting and ensure proper period journal entries + Complete period-end close processes, controls, and procedures + Ensure compliance with CEO/CFO Certification requirements. + Participate in the internal and external audit requests. + Collaborate with various stakeholders and provide recommendations that are in accordance with the company policies and IFRS + With a process improvement mindset, propose innovative ideas + Prepare various analytical and ad-hoc reports. **\#LI-Hybrid #LI-VJ1** **What your resume will include and demonstrate to us:** + University Degree and Accounting Designation CPA (or in the process of obtaining) + 2+ years of accounting experience + Knowledge of accounting standards (IFRS) + Strong communication skills (Both oral and written) + Excellent time management skills to meet time-sensitive deadlines + Solid analytical and problem-solving skills + Knowledge of SAP preferred. + Advanced Microsoft Office skills (particularly Excel) **Who we are:** We started in a small town in Nova Scotia but we are now in communities of all sizes across this great country.
